When the time finally says “go!” I immediately run out of the chamber as it opens up. Not just me either, everyone else starts to do the same. I see to the right of me toward the unicorn and creature from before immediate fighting right off the bat. Why do they get to have supernatural powers and I don't?
As soon as I am about to grab my sword, a large tentacle gets in my way. It blocks the path, and shortly afterward I hear a loud roar. Another tentacle attempts to grab me, but I jump out of the way. I then see a very large and tall man with an axe come up from behind the monster, and it starts to cut it.
Meanwhile, I see to the other side of me Hadeon, who just snaps his fingers and causes two creatures to disappear. Now I know what he is, he's some kind of interdimensional god standing in the same arena as I am. That thought scares me and makes me want to forfeit.
Though, another thought comes to mind shortly afterward, telling me that I should keep going. So I decide to lay off the surrender and keep going forward. I get around the large tentacle, which decides to move away and go toward whatever is attacking it.
I finally touch the handle of the sword, but I am unable to grab it as I get pulled back from a red glowing effect. I can see that the blue-haired creature is using his powers to get me over to him. The unicorn attempts to stop him, but the creature is just blocking whatever he throws at him.
I struggle and fight my way closer, trying to grab the damn sword. I keep failing, soon getting fully pulled back and then punched hard into the ground by the creature. Though, the creature feels pain when he does. He shakes his own head from the pain, almost like he just punched metal.
The unicorn looks at me for a split second before using more of its magic abilities to slam the creature with a magical fist, causing it to get pushed over the cliff of the arena before it is considered a forfeiture for the creature. I see the creature flying upward in front of me and the unicorn.
The unicorn glances back at me. “Go get your sword,” it tells me, looking back to the creature in front of him.
“You teaming up will not end well. I have powerful abilities that extend beyond either of yours,” the creature says, still speaking with the dark and creepy voice once again.
“I am not doing this for him, I am doing this for the rest of us,” the unicorn says, making me confused. Though, I shake it off and immediately turn around and start heading toward the sword, which is now on the ground beside the tower.
I can see that the unicorn and the creature are fighting once again, both using their powers to block each other and push each other back. When I finally get to the sword, I grab it and I feel an immediate rush of energy rushing through my veins.
It almost feels as though the world is slowing down and that all knowledge and logic is rushing into my brain. I don't move, I just sit there taking it all in. As the energy rushes through, I soon regain the ability to move once again. I look at the rest of the creatures, seeing about four or five left remaining.
I know for certain that it's me, the blue-haired creature, the unicorn, Hadeon, and someone else. My attention soon gets interrupted by a large force in front of me, causing me to get pushed back several feet, almost falling off the platform. I try to get up, but I get nailed down to the ground by what seems like another humanoid entity with a large hatchet.
This isn't the giant from before, no. He seems pretty similar to my size, but just differently colored. I keep my sword blocking my chest with both of my hands, attempting to push the humanoid off of me. I fail, but I keep struggling and attempting to do so.
I look at the humanoid after looking at my arms. Then I use my feet to kick him back several feet. When I do, he lumbers backward, and I jump up to my feet. My eyes stare firmly at the humanoid, who stands in front of me. He looks at me with utter annoyance in his eyes, holding his hatchet tightly.
And when I finally start to see him move, I also move out of the way. Though, this guy seems to have skills in martial arts. He moves very erratically, leaving me incapable of processing where to hit next or dodge. Though, I keep my sword close in my hands to use my enhanced reflexes.
It doesn't take long, but I soon slam the sword against his face. It knocks him back a bit with also a slight grunt, but he continues to use martial arts to his advantage. Then he slams his axe into the ground, causing the ground beneath me to shake and crack. I try to keep myself balanced, but I felt myself fall backwards. Falling off the edge from the rumbling of the axe’s impact.
I plunge the sword cleanly into the platform to keep me from falling, placing my hands onto the sword's blade as I do so, hanging off the edge with my hands above me onto the handle. The humanoid with the axe gets the axe out of the platform and jumps over to where I am.
He places the axe firmly underneath my fingers of the blade, trying to get me to release. Finally, almost seeing my life flash through my eyes, I feel my hand slip off of the handle, but my other hand continues to hold it tightly. I look down as my hand still holds onto the handle, seeing a dark and endless pit.
I place my hand onto the handle again and look back up at the humanoid above me. I can feel the axe slipping underneath my other hand. I can also feel my second hand becoming slippery, as if I am going to fall. I am scared and frightened from my own position.
Right as I feel as though I am going to lose my grip, I see a large beam of light hit the humanoid above me, knocking him off the edge on the other side. I look up to where the beam of light came from, and I see the unicorn looking at me. Right when I am about to say thank you, I see a large piece of metal strike right through the unicorn's body.
My eyes stare in shock and confusion at the sight, but before the creature can finish the unicorn off, the unicorn sounds the surrender alert and immediately disappears, leaving me, Hadeon, and the creature remaining. I stare at the creature for a second before he begins to come closer to me.
I look up once more, then use my legs to jump up and land onto the platform above, yanking the sword out of the platform as I do so, and turning my body to face the creature behind me. They look to be pretty beaten up from the unicorn, seeing as though that they might've been equally matched.
At least they were. I don't know if the unicorn will survive. I stare at the creature, seeing him looking at me with his yellow glowing eyes. A wave of fear rushes through my body, but it goes away as my eyes catch on to the sword in my hand. I look back up to the creature once more, and I immediately start to run toward him.
The creature looks shocked when I do, and before he can move out of the way I slam into him and knock him back to the side, causing him to roll over to his side. I slide across the floor to halt my movement, and I begin to run toward him. Though, the creature uses more of his energy to almost stop my movement.
I don't stop. In fact, I keep struggling to get closer, fighting my way through the energy. They stare in complete confusion, but I soon feel like something is off. Something that is coming from the stomach area, and it feels like a rush of energy about to come to my brain.
Right as it enters into my brain, I felt as though I can sense every movement of what the creature could make. A large piece of energy forms around its body, emanating from its back. It isn't any particular color, it’s almost like a rainbow.
Eventually, I use the energy I was feeling to grab something on its back and yank it out. I see blood around the gem, which I pull over to me. I can see that it is a red gemstone. It looks to be a very unnatural-looking shape in 3D, with weird particles inside it. I examine it for a minute before tossing it away from the creature. I can tell that it was beginning to hurt a lot.
“My telekinesis!” the creature cries out.
“This won't be the last of me . . . you hear! I will win this tournament, even if it means me killing you in your sleep,” he says. Then shortly later he calls in to surrender, causing himself and the gem to vanish, leaving just me and Hadeon left on the platform.
I turn to look toward Hadeon, who is just messing with his fingers. I examine him for a few more minutes before getting the feeling that I think this is as far as I am going to get, knowing that this sword could've gotten me this far. Though, I doubt that it has the ability to kill a being with ultimate power.
Hadeon finally looks in my direction, seeing me looking up at him. I don't know what to say or do as I stare up at him. Hadeon moves his fingers into a snapping position, but doesn't snap them. He just continues to stare into my eyes as I look up at him.
An instant wave of fear erupts through me, preventing me from making any more moves. Eventually, I decide to call in the surrender, making me start to vanish and reappear back to the inside of the spaceship. When I do, I see myself in front of the teleporters with a medical team of robed creatures taking the unicorn with them.
I also see a glimpse of the creature. He looks at me with rage before walking away around the corner. The unicorn looks at me and smiles a slight bit. He then starts to get transported out of the room and immediately toward the medical room, leaving me alone, confused, so I start to walk myself out of there.
When I leave the room, someone taps me on the shoulder. I look back and see Hadeon giggling a bit. “Good choice, another win for me as usual.” He laughs, walking away from me to head back to wherever he usually goes. I remain where I am after hearing those words, confused and a bit ashamed that I surrendered.
Although, when I think about it, It's much more of a smarter move than one might originally think. I soon arrive back to Hank and Hoy's room, seeing that the room is the same condition as it was earlier. I then hear Hank’s voice behind me as I look into the room. “That was some pretty impressive fighting you did out there.”
I look back over to him and nod. “Yeah, I was debating on whether or not to fight Hadeon and win. Though, I saw what he could do and I am not risking it,” I say.
“That's a good decision. He should not be messed with.” Hank and Hoy walk into the room and place their weapons back into the box on the table. “Despite that, though, you got yourself in second place.”
“Yeah, though, I didn't get to see the second-place champion you spoke of out there,” I tell him.
“That's because he's a trainer, not a contestant. The first place is the only spot that lets you go back out there until you lose. Since Hadeon always wins, nobody that plays is able to try again. Once you either surrender or die at least,” Hoy says.
“Although, if you think about the brighter side, at least you survived out there. That means you’re allowed to go home now,” Hank tells me, which brings that thought immediately to mind.
“Wow, I just remembered that,” I say to myself, beginning to think about what just happened and what Peter might say when I return. I look down to the sword that I am holding my hand. “I can't take this if I remember correctly what you said?” I say.
“Yes, they are taking it back with them,” Hank and Hoy tell me. “They are just going to dismantle it and make it into something new is all.”
I nod in understanding. “So, where do I leave it?” I ask them.
Hank remembers something just after I ask them that question. “Oh, right! I almost forgot!” Hank looks down at the sword in my hand. “I’m not able to take possession of it. The sword would rip me apart if it were anywhere close to me.” Hank takes the box of other weapons into his hands and stands by the doorway. “I’ll go speak to the grandmaster about it,” he says before returning back to what he was doing previously.
Meanwhile, I look down at the sword in my hand for a minute. Then I decide to start walking toward the medical room that I was trying to get to before. I walk up to the doorway of the medical room, looking inside to see the unicorn lying on a medical bed, with a few robed doctors speaking to each other.
I take a minute to think to myself before finally walking into the medical room. I go toward the unicorn, whose body is turned away from me, sadly. I walk up beside the bed, or behind the unicorn. “Hey, uh, thank you for what you did out there. That was not really necessary but . . .”
The unicorn turns around and sits up, looking at me. “I . . . I wasn't doing it for you. I was doing it because I know what you will become,” the unicorn tells me, eyeing the sword in my hand.
“What do you mean?” I ask him.
“Listen . . . what I was trying to do is get you to win against Hadeon. What Hadeon and the rest of those freaking robed creatures have done to us is unforgettable and wrong,” he says, making me a bit concerned, as if I were talking to some insane person who has watched too many murder movies.
“I still don't understand what you are trying to say,” I tell him.
He grunts in pain and annoyance. “What I am trying to say is . . . we need your help. Everything that you think is going on here is incorrect. There is much more here than you may think.”
“I still don't understand, can you tell me what that is?” I ask him.
“I can't. They are listening . . . every corner and every mind.” The unicorn looks around him in case anybody was nearby. Then he pulls me closer and says, “If you lose, there’s a chance that your planet and the rest of your loved ones will perish with you,” he whispers.
When I hear this, I am shocked. “I always thought that it would be me,” I say. “Does everyone else know about this?” I ask him quietly.
“Yes, but they are trying to act as if everything is normal so that they don't risk their own species from blowing up,” the unicorn says. “Please, you are the only hope for helping us.”
“What am I supposed to do?”
“Defeat Hadeon in Battleworld . . . or give him a rematch. You two will fight to the death for the winning throne.” After hearing this, I stop him.
“Whoa, that's insane. Haven't you seen Hadeon?! He is more powerful than you think he is,” I say, remembering back to what I saw Hadeon do to other people with just one simple snap of his fingers. It almost makes me shiver from how scary it is.
“I know, I know, but just listen,” he says, placing his hoof onto the tip of the sword, which I lift up to him. “This sword is much more powerful than you could ever imagine. It's more powerful than even a Omnipotent.”
I look at him like he's crazy, knowing how powerful Omnipotent are, from the movies. “Wouldn't that make them Nigh Omnipotent then?” I ask, but the unicorn shakes his head and ignores my question. Then he stops talking completely as he sees robed doctors coming into the room.
“I can't keep talking, I am sorry. Please, do this for all of us and for the sake of your own planet,” he says before motioning his hooves for me to leave and pretending this didn't happen. So I decide to do just that, beginning to head out of the medical room and back to Hank and Hoy's room.
I get to the room, placing the sword on the table. I’m about to pack myself up to leave, but my eyes catch onto a notebook in a drawer in the table. I pick it up and open it, looking through the pages. This isn't just any regular notebook; this is Hank and Hoy’s journal.
What's odd, though, is that the title of the notebook is “Journal 4 of being trapped here.” I decide to read the journal, and I find a page where it speaks of Hank and Hoy feeling as though there is no escape or way to get back to their home planet.
Both Hank and Hoy feel as though they are in distress and lonely, as if they haven't left the spaceship once. This concerns me, knowing that it is more than likely that the unicorn might be right. I place the journal back where I found it, and decide to start heading out of the room, at least until I see Hank and Hoy with several robed creatures behind them. Though, this time they seem to be armed with weapons that are extremely advanced and threatening. Hank and Hoy look to be very distressed and sad, almost like they are being forced to come with the robed entities.
I see that the robed creatures are aiming their weapons at not just me, but also Hank and Hoy. “So . . . little Floyd Lorence, I see that you have brought yourself a weapon that could end our civilization. That is no good to us.”
“Excuse me, you were the ones that brought it here!” I yell.
“And that was a huge mistake on our part. Now we must forcefully remove that connection between you and that sword of yours,” the robed creatures say.
I growl in anger before grabbing my sword from the table inside. “If you want it, then fine. How about I do a rematch with me versus Hadeon. If I win, I want everyone released and I destroy every part of your kind,” I tell them.
“And if Hadeon wins?” they ask me.
“You continue whatever you guys were doing, destroying my species and removing the sword off of my dead corpse,” I say, which makes them extremely confident with my proposal.
“Sounds good to us!” they say, letting go of Hank and Hoy. Hank walks over to my side.
“Listen, this is madness. You don't have to do this,” Hank says.
“Don't worry, I know what's really going on here, and if this sword was brought to my planet to save you guys, then I guess that is exactly what I am going to do,” I tell them, making them stand back a bit behind me as I face toward the robed creatures.
I see the headmaster walking up to me, and we shake hands. I can see his hand with a glove on it. “Deal, let the rematch begin!” the headmaster announces.
Before I know it, I see myself in a chamber with Hadeon on the other side of a tower. This time, it's just me and him inside with the same platform but completely prepared for this moment. I also see myself still holding the sword in my hand, knowing that this time it will be a somewhat close fight.
I smirk as I look up to the television screens announcing the great fight of a rematch about to happen. Eventually they start to count down, starting at the number 10. I stare confidently toward Hadeon ahead of me, who is laughing to himself, then looking at me with a smile and an evil look.
It's almost as if he knows I am going to lose or is wasting my time with this. As the numbers count down, I hold the sword tighter. When the timer finally touches one, I grip the handle tightly, so tightly that it's like I am squeezing it. If it's true, I am doing this to save everyone.
Let's just hope I get out of here alive.
